Just last week I came across a brand new article marketing guide called Article Insider Profits, and I have to admit, I was quite excited when I heard that the author was Fabian Tan. I first came across Fabian over a year ago on the Warrior Forum, and after reading some of his posts there I realised this guy really knew his stuff when it came to article marketing. Probably the most important thing I can tell you about this guy’s credentials is that he has over 3500 articles to his name at Ezinearticles - and that doesn’t include the articles he submits under a pen name. Check this out:

As you can see Fabian is in the top 5 authors at Ezinearticles, so as you can imagine he knows his stuff when it comes to article marketing. I’ve read quite a few article marketing guides in the past few years - some good, many not so good. Very few of these were written by ‘real’ article marketing experts who were actually ‘walking the walk’. I can tell you right now, this is a pretty good ebook if article marketing is your thing.
In fact Article Insider Profits is different to most other article marketing ebooks that I’ve read, in that it actually focuses more on building lists from article traffic and creating long term profits, rather than grabbing the odd affiliate sale.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying ‘the money is in the list’ - well it happens to be true (or at least in the relationship you have with your list). I have to admit I haven’t done a whole lot of list building so far in my internet business but it’s going to be a big priority for me in 2009. The little I have done though has mainly been using articles to send traffic to a squeeze page, and I’ve found that the subscribers I get from doing this are highly responsive (much more so than traffic from PPC or other means).
Article Insider Profits is probably the *easiest* system I’ve ever seen when it comes to generating massive, residual article marketing profits. Fabian reveals his step-by-step system that makes him up to $300+ per day regularly from article marketing - in step-by-step detail. He goes through how to pick a killer niche, how to build lead pumping squeeze pages, creating an automated hands free sales funnel, researching and writing articles and much more.
Now although he does go into the basics of email marketing, I really think that there’s ALOT more to it - now I’m not knocking the ebook (after all it’s about building your list rather than marketing to it), but I’ve come up with a great bonus to compliment this product.
First of all I’m going to send you the Guide To Mastering Aweber: A Step By Step Blueprint. This is an absolutely invaluable guide to getting started using Aweber and goes through everything from signing up for an Aweber account, to setting up your autoresponder messages (all with screenshots). It also includes a cool 6 Squeeze Pages and 27 Newsletter Templates.
Secondly I’ll send you a copy of Responsive Email Marketing Tutorials (worth $47) - these are a bunch of video tutorials that will show you how to get the most profits from your list.
Here is what you’ll learn from these videos:
Video #1: Why Writing Responsive Emails Determines your list success- 5:38

5 Tips That Can Help You Change Your Life
A few days ago I got an email with an article contributed by a guy called Barry Gottlieb. I hadn’t heard of him before, but after doing some research I found out he’s a successful author, life coach and business coach. In the article he shared five simple ways that we can change our lives for the better and it really struck a chord with me - these are things that I’m going to be doing myself from now on. They’re the kind of things you know you SHOULD be doing, but most people just don’t take the time to do them.
Here’s a quick summary of the tips:
1: Use the first hour after you wake up doing something positive. No television. No radio. No newspaper. It’s important to start your day on a positive note with something educational, spiritual, motivational or inspirational.
2: Spend thirty minutes prior to bedtime reading, listening or viewing, something positive. No negative media or stimuli.
3: Give yourself thirty minutes to an hour every day, doing something just for you. Choose something you want to do and make it happen. No excuses! Making time just for you, is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. This can be hard if you’ve got alot of responsibility (especially kids!) but it’s very important and you should try to make it a habit.
4: Spend a few minutes each day recognizing and acknowledging your accomplishments for the day. This is your chance to pat yourself on the back and feel good about yourself. Just because other people not may not recognize your worth you should take time to recognize the good in yourself and what you do.
5: Set aside five to ten minutes each day to think about the many things you have in your life for which you should be grateful. Simply say: “I am grateful for…” List at least five to ten things each day.
In case you missed it Bryan Kumar posted a great thread on the Warrrior Forum the other day called The Ultimate Secret To Lifelong Wealth - want to know what it is? Yep, it’s gratitude!
Try these tips out for a few days and see how you get on - I’ve only been doing these for a few days and I’m already starting to see the positive benefits.
A Newsletter Actually WORTH Signing Up To
Have you heard of Lee McIntyre? If you haven’t then you’ve been missing out! Lee is one of the few genuine marketers out there who offers amazing value to his list (and DOESN’T bombard your inbox with product launch promotions). I first came across him about a year ago when he made a post on the Warrior Forum about how he went from $0 - $20,000 in just a few short months. Of course it piqued my interest and I wanted to find out more, and since then I’ve been one of his loyal subscribers, I buy most of his products and I read his blog regularly.
Towards the end of the year I always go about unsubscribing from all the useless email lists I’m on (I did this again a few days ago), but Lee’s is one of about 5 that I’ve actually kept. Seriously, I’ve learnt something from nearly every email I’ve received, even if it was only how to do email marketing ‘properly’.
If you don’t want to sign up to yet another email list then check out his blog to see the kind of info he gives. But if you do decide to sign up for Lee’s newsletter you can get a copy of his “From Zero to $20,000 in 161 Days” report detailing how he went from being an overworked high school teacher to a full time marketer earning 5 figures a month (a more detailed version of that Warrior Forum post I mentioned above) - for a freebie it’s actually well worth a read.
Article Marketing Research The Easy Way
Filed under: Affiliate Marketing, Article Marketing, Site Flipping, keyword research
The absolute easiest way to do keyword research is take a look at what keywords other article marketers are using. However, instead of using one of the popular keyword tools, go straight to Ezinearticles.com and you’ll find out what people REALLY want to read about.
By using Ezinearticles own tools (check out the Google search box at the top of the page), you can spy on what everyone else is doing with their articles. As you can see, you can search both Google and Ezinearticles for the Top Listing for any given keyword, and take a look at how many article views and which keywords you will need to use in your articles to get into the list of ‘Most Viewed’ Ezinearticles.
When your article is listed as one of the most viewed you get a massive increase in traffic to your article from both Google and Ezinearticles. This is partly due to the internal links to your article within Ezinearticles. Google loves high PR links to your articles and rewards you with higher listings.
Let’s look at a quick example:
Step 1: Go to the Google search box (at the top of the Ezinearticles home page) and type in your general keywords e.g. “online dating”, “weight loss”, “diabetes” etc. For the purpose of this example I’ll search for the keyword ‘diabetes’.
Step 2: Click on any of the article titles on the results page and scroll down to the ‘Most Viewed’ section (underneath the article).
Step 3: Take a look at the no.1 result “6 Tips on How to Lower Blood Sugar Level”
If you visit the article you’ll see that it has been viewed 4462 times since it was submitted on September 07, 2008. Those are pretty good stats for a niche like this.
Just by looking at the title you should be able to establish that the main keyword that is being targetted is probably ‘lower blood sugar level’.
Step 4: Do a search for ‘lower blood sugar level’ at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal to see how many searches it gets. This has thrown up at least three other possible keywords that the article might rank for such as ‘how to lower blood sugar level’, ‘how to lower blood sugar’ and ‘lower blood sugar levels’ Although none of the phrases get a large amount of monthly searches, the combination of phrases that the article ranks for means that it has still received a decent amount of views.
Step 5: Now check out each of the phrases (without using “”) in Google to see if the article is ranking on page 1. Here are the results:
lower blood sugar level – article is ranked no.4 out of 3410000
how to lower blood sugar level – article is ranked no.4 out of 2980000
lower blood sugar levels – article is ranked no.6 out of 3560000
how to lower blood sugar – article is ranke no. 6 out of 6,170,000
And it’s probably ranked for a number of other similar phrases as well.
Imagine having several articles ranking like this for a number of different keyword phrases? It’s easier than you think. If you targetted that keyword with a new title and article, then you have a very good chance of getting to the ‘Most Viewed’ section AND ranking on page 1 of Google.
Duplicate Content Penalty Doesn’t Exist
For the last year or so (well as long as I’ve been in IM anyway) the duplicate content penalty has been an issue for many people. It was always thought that Google would not look favorably on a site that had duplicate content e.g. PLR, articles taken from article directories etc. So I always made sure my content was 100% unique, and I checked everything I put online through Copyscape - I don’t leave anything to chance ;-).
Well recently it’s been proven that there’s no such thing as the duplicate content penalty, you can find it all explained right HERE on the Google Webmaster Central Blog.
Personally, I still use mostly unique content on my niche sites (mainly because it makes the sites more valuable when selling them) but I’ve actually found the PLR articles that I have used have been indexed and are ranking quite well. For example, one particular PLR article I used had 30 different instances of it indexed in Google (according to Copyscape). I got a few backlinks to mine (I submitted some articles to EZA and did some blog commenting), and mine has risen to the top of the SERPs - above all the other instances of the exact same article.
One of the blogs I like to keep up with is Josh Spaulding’s, and he recently made a post that details his own experience with using duplicate content on one of his sites. Check out his duplicate content case study - proof that duplicate content ranks.
Taking Your Article Marketing To The Next Level - FREE Report
If I had to pick out the 5 marketers that I most respect and whose success I would want to emulate, Travis Sago would definitely be one of the 5. In case you don’t know who I’m talking about, Travis Sago is the guy who wrote the popular Bum Marketing Method.
I was just reading through some of his old emails this morning for inspiration (this guy really knows his stuff when it comes to email marketing) and I came across this short report. It’s called the 5 Step Bum Marketing Rollout and it’s probably about a year old, but if you haven’t seen it before you should check it out - it’s free.
It’s short and pretty basic, but the steps included are exactly what I’m doing to build a six figure business online. I’m currently working on steps 4 and 5, and these will be a major focus for my business in 2009.
Anyway, there’s not much more I can say about it - just see for yourself! Download the report here
6 Simple Ways To Get Your New Site Indexed Fast
A lot of people worry way too much about getting their sites indexed fast – the reality is it can take anything from a few hours to a week or more. In my experience Google can be very fickle, and a technique that works to get one site indexed within a few hours may not work so well for another.
The following are a few tips you can use to speed up the process, and could possibly get your site indexed in 24-48 hours.
- Get a link pointing back to your site, and also (preferably) to any individual pages you want indexed. If you already have an indexed site that the Google bots visit regularly get a link from this site and you should get indexed quickly. Another easy way to get a good backlink is to submit an article to a high PR article directory such as Ezinearticles. You do have to wait for the article to be approved and published though before your site is indexed.
- Submit your site to social bookmarking sites using either Social Marker or Social Poster. If you’re in a hurry just submit to the most popular ones such as Digg, Stumbleupon and Propeller. These are high ranked websites that get crawled frequently.
- Ping your site using a service like Pingoat or Pingomatic – remember you can ping any site, not just blogs.
- In Google Webmaster, you can submit your blog and website sitemap to Google to get it indexed fast. You can sign up for Google Webmaster here and you can use this site to create a sitemap.
- I’ve also heard that putting Google analytics code on your site can help in indexing. Apparently this works because once you place the code on your site Google sends the spiders to crawl your site to ensure you have placed the code right, and in doing that indexes your site.
- Include your site URL in your forum signature. Many forums are very popular with the search engines and index forum posts very quickly (e.g Warrior Forum, DigitalPoint etc.) When Google indexes these pages it should also index your site.
And that’s about it - using one or more of the above tips you should get your site indexed within a few days or less.
15 Ways To Get Traffic To Your Sites
These are my top 15 favorite ways to get traffic to my own sites (in no particular order):
- Participate in related forums using a signature link that points to your site – Most of my traffic to this blog comes directly from my sig link at the Warrior Forum. I frequent a number of other forums as well where I link back to some of my niche sites. You can find lots of different niche forums here: http://www.big-boards.com
- Social bookmark your sites using either Social Poster or Social Marker. I don’t get a ton of traffic this way, but if you have a newsworthy topic you may get a few visits here and there.
- Leave comments on other people’s blogs and link back to your site.
- Answer questions on Yahoo Answers and quote your website as the source – this works better for some niches than others but I manage to get quite a lot of traffic this way.
- Write articles and submit them to article directories – some people like to submit to a number of different article directories, I personally prefer to submit just to Ezinearticles if the aim of my article is to get traffic to my site. More top article directories are Buzzle, Goarticles and Searchwarp.
- Write a Press Release and submit it to Webwire (I don’t do this very often as it’s hard to find a ‘newsworthy’ topic for some of my niche sites, but when I do it can generate a lot of traffic). This isn’t free, but at $19 isn’t overly expensive either. If you want to go the free route I recommend Pressbox, Free Press Release and i-newswire – you can find more free press release sites here
- Use Pay Per Click e.g Adwords, MSN Adcenter, YSM – this isn’t something I’ve tested extensively, but it’s definitely high on my list of ‘things to do’ for 2009. Free advertising is great, but I think a mix of both free and paid will be even better!
- Submit a blog to a blog directory – because most of my niche sites are blogs I submit them to the top blog directories (I just Google ‘blog directory’ – the top ones will come up on page 1 and 2 of Google)
- Submit you RSS feed to RSS feed directories – I submit to Feedagg, Feedest and Feedage (your feeds can rank quite well in the search engines using these sites).
- Nothing beats good SEO for traffic. I can’t really go into SEO here because there’s too much involved, but simple steps such as optimizing the titles of your pages for searched for keywords, using a keyword rich domain and so on can make all the difference to how you rank.
- Have a link to your site on community sites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc. I personally only use Twitter (I have a Facebook profile but don’t use it for marketing purposes) – whenever I make a new post to my blog I announce it on Twitter and it brings me traffic.
- Create a freebie product to give away e.g a free report or ebook. Include your affiliate link to a more comprehensive product or include links to your site.
- Submit your site to the hundreds of free directories – Check out the original SEO friendly free directory list - http://info.vilesilencer.com
- Submit videos to video sharing sites like YouTube. Include a link in the description and within the actual video – I haven’t done much of this yet but from what I’ve seen it works well for many people.
- Create small ‘feeder’ sites with Squidoo, Hubpages, Wikidot, Weebly etc and link to your ‘money’ site (or direct to merchant if you like). Both of these can rank well and send good traffic to your main site.
You’ll probably have noticed that a lot of this can be very time consuming (even working full time online I couldn’t possibly do all of this myself) so I highly recommend outsourcing some of the more tedious tasks like social bookmarking, creating web 2.0 sites, articles, directory submissions etc if you can afford it. If not, then stick with the tried and tested methods like article marketing until you’re making some money.
Give Up Your J-O-B By Becoming A Freelance Writer
Are you still working in a J-O-B or are you working full time online? I gave up my job in June 2007 after replacing my offline income with income from niche marketing and freelance writing. Because I only started niche marketing in March 2007, my niche marketing earnings were still a bit inconsistent but I knew I’d be able to rely on what I earned as a writer. In fact at the time, one of my best writing clients was paying me $50 per 500 word article, which isn’t bad for someone with fairly average writing skills.
In the beginning it isn’t easy to start earning a consistent amount from affiliate marketing. It takes time and practice to learn the essentials such as finding a good niche, doing keyword research, basic web design, preselling and so on. Many people supplement their internet marketing earnings by doing some freelance writing, and by writing for other marketers you can actually learn a lot about how they do business, plus it’s good practice for you too!
If you’ve got good English and reasonable writing skills then you might want to consider doing some content writing. If so, then I’ve got the perfect ebook for you – it’s called The Content Chef, and is by an experienced ghostwriter/content writer called Courtney Ramirez. I first came across Courtney through the Warrior Forum, and I can tell you – she’s definitely the real deal, and she knows what she’s talking about when it comes to creating a writing business. Check out some of her testimonials and I bet you’ll recognise some of the names - I’m sure you’ll at least know of Tiffany Dow ‘Ghostwriter to the Gurus’!
I’m not going to go into what’s in the ebook because she outlines it all perfectly on her sales page, but I do urge you to check it out if you’re interested in making some extra money writing for others – you’ll find pretty much everything you need to know about how to get started.
Even if you don’t want to work as a writer you can still pick up some great tips such as how to research and write articles in 30 minutes or less, how to create the perfect preselling article and much more.

The Power Of Yahoo Answers
If you’re looking for fast, targetted traffic (and sales) Yahoo Answers is an absolute goldmine for affiliate marketers. You can find questions on just about any topic, and if you answer relevant questions and link back to your site, it can actually generate a ton of traffic for you if you’re in the right niche. In fact one of my niche blogs that makes a fairly consistent $50 a day gets about 50% of its traffic just from Yahoo Answers (the other 50% comes from Ezinearticles). The blog itself is nowhere to be seen in the search engines – in fact I’ve a feeling it’s been sandboxed.
The site is very easy to use – I just do an advanced search for ‘open’ questions on my particular keyword e.g. a search on ‘acne’ throws up some of the following questions:
How To Get Rid Of Acne On My Back?
What Is The Best Acne Product To Use In My Situation?
What Acne Medication Has Worked Best For You?
Etc.
Then all you have to do is write an informative, helpful answer, without sounding any way salesy. If people like your answer there’s a good chance they’ll check out your site.
Another good thing about Yahoo Answers is that questions often rank on the first page of Google. I’ve often been researching long tail keywords on Google and found a question that contained my keyword. If the question is still open it only takes a few minutes to provide a good answer and a link to your site.
Some people just use their affiliate link to send visitors direct to the merchant, but I prefer to send the traffic to a presell or review on my site. A good landing page will be better for conversions in the long run anyway, because people asking questions are looking for answers and not necessarily looking to spend money. If you don’t have a site you could send visitors to an article you wrote.
Just a word of warning – if you spam Yahoo Answers, you WILL get your account banned (and probably get all your answers deleted as well). Use it sparingly, and don’t always link to the same site. If users see that you are constantly linking to a particular site and using Yahoo Answers in a commercial manner then there are plenty of people who won’t think twice about reporting you. I just spend an hour once a week answering questions on different topics that relate to my sites – I also answer a few other questions that interest me, so if the ‘powers’ at Yahoo ever check my account they’ll see I answer a variety of questions rather than just linking to my own sites. .
Another point to remember is that any links you get from Yahoo Answers are ‘no follow’ – therefore they aren’t worth much in terms of backlinks. This method is mainly for traffic generation but it can be very effective if you do it right.
If you’re not yet taking advantage of the power of Yahoo Answers then I recommend you give it a try. It won’t be good for every niche, but if you find the right one you can make a killing.
